With a predominantly importing trend, the flow of goods from the port has specialized in: bulk agricultural fertilizer, steel products and to a lesser extent, in general cargo, bulk liquids and various minerals.
The movement of the following products outstands: beans, soy, sorghum, wheat, corn, urea, phosphates and potash, wire rod, pipelines and chemical solvents. With loads of oil and its derivatives, the port is the country’s main gasoline introducer through PEMEX.

Nationally, the Port of Tuxpan has the third place in agricultural movement in bulk and the fifth place in handling petroleum products.

Currently the vessels arriving to the port do not register moorings or anchoring delays, these facts directly reduce the cost of sea freights.
